The Full Story

A Blended Approach

Salla started out as a multi-disciplinary designer and communications specialist at various branding & marketing agencies. She has always enjoyed working with organisations from the nature restoration, arts and wellbeing sector.

In 2015, Salla completed Yoga Teacher Trainings in Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative and Ashtanga Yoga. In 2017 she completed Massage Therapy Trainings in Holistic Massage, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage & Indian Head Massage.

Her work to date, specifically in the wellbeing sector includes:

  • Co-teaching 'Managing Anxiety' courses, created for The Sussex Recovery College

  • Assisting on the Children Do Yoga Training course

  • Current faculty member and podcast host at Your Yoga Flow

  • Teaching yoga and offering massage therapy on yoga retreats

  • Designing for wellbeing in the coliving, supported living and care sector

  • Co-teaching modules on design and sustainability in the built environment

  • Marketing consultancy for wellbeing projects that came out of COP26

In 2018, Salla established Kalula Therapies, whilst also expanding her yoga teaching to support students at high performing schools, and patients recovering from neuro-muscular trauma and disease at private hospitals, or individuals being cared for at home.

Here she learnt the skill of Deep Listening, as many of the patients in care, were non-verbal or struggled to speak as a result of their diagnosis. Salla has worked for many years with individuals experiencing Alzheimer's and Motor Neurone Diseases, to offer a space where the person on the inside can experience relaxation and a connection with the present moment.

Today, with this developed sensitivity, Salla uses the skills of Deep Listening to restore the wellbeing needs of her clients through massage therapy, offering a place of relaxation and reconnection, both to themselves and the world around them.
